A NURSE'S LAMENTATION...

Matthew 13:57 Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor."
Luke 4:24 "I tell you the truth," he continued, "no prophet is accepted in his hometown

for a new NLE passer and you go round the city seeking for hospital jobs, what will you feel seeing these in prints?

ADVICE:
When you hunt for jobs, have somebody with you so you would both have someone at your back and share crazy stories with just to lift your spirits.

it is a nurse's goal to work in a hospital setting (i am talking about here the heart to practice it not just finishing the degree and pass then end).. yet nowadays, you will understand and feel what Jesus meant..

FOUR TOUGH YEARS...
LONG LICENSING EXAM...
COSTLY TRAININGS & CERTIFICATIONS..
MANDATORY PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP...
HIGHER EDUCATION REQUIREMENT...
PROFESSIONAL TAXES EVEN WITHOUT PRACTICING...
HOSPITAL TRAININGS NOT PROMISING EMPLOYMENT..

now tell me who could blame those who settled being UNDERemployed?

it's true you will earn more being in the academe, because at the same time you are a graduate student...
you spend 8 hours or more on the bedside but other skilled workers and laborers earn more than you do...

now tell me who could blame those who dream working ABROAD?

no matter how much you excel in your field here,
REALITY: still they see you smaller than those who have gone to other countries...
you are stereotyped that your caliber is only Pinas-side and not States-side, Europe-side or wherever OUTSIDE.

you did your best to pass the NLE and indeed earned 80% and above RATING came from a TOP-PERFORMING SCHOOL, yet they don't recognize that...

come' on! don't limit judgments in TOR, check with the SCHOOL STANDARDS!
substandard educational system will always have higher grades and even produce dozens of CUM LAUDE.. but what happened to what educators said that the hard-earned 75% in school is already 85% when compared with other schools?

why don't hospital administrators check with PRC for those who excelled in the NLE and choose from there? call potential staff from the record like what other industries are doing thus those graduating students who excel need not to worry for employment...
because they earn it.. they deserve it.

with that, it CHALLENGES nursing graduates NOT just to PASS the board exam but also have HIGH BOARD RATING for their future,
(let NLE be the judge, for me that's fair enough)

perhaps this will lessen the failing rate of nurses each year and nursing schools will increase their standards too..

make it a real competition!

so there's JUSTICE, there's INTEGRITY, there's EXCELLENCE, there's QUALITY.

you are feeding the CREME OF YOUR CROP to other COUNTRIES
by CARING FOR THEM LESS.

you are the ONE pushing them AWAY!
you are the one pushing US...Away! "U.S.A. way"
